Sparaco FamilyRockland County Legislator Frank Sparaco is a successful local small businessman, decorated U.S. Navy combat veteran, and a husband and father of a two-year old girl.

Frank Sparaco, a native of Valley Cottage, was first elected to the Rockland County Legislature in 2007 and has become a champion for efforts to cut property taxes and stop wasteful spending. He believes that the state needs to cap and cut property taxes once and for all and stop the reckless spending of our tax dollars in Albany.

Sparaco is the owner of Pop’s Vending in Valley Cottage and previously owned and operated Celebrity Tans salon in Valley Cottage.

As a County Legislator, Sparaco has authored legislation to offer veterans free community college tuition in recognition of their heroic efforts to keep our country safe. Sparaco also has led the charge to protect children by restricting the sale of Salvia divinorum, a powerful psychoactive herb, which when smoked or chewed can produce hallucinogenic effects.

Sparaco is the youngest member of the Rockland County Legislature and serves on the Environmental, Economic Development, and Multi Services committees. He is also a Legislative Liaison to the Rockland Community College Board of Trustees.

Mr. Sparaco first served his country in the 1990s as a member of the U.S. Navy during our involvement in Bosnia. Sparaco was stationed aboard the aircraft carrier the USS Theodore Roosevelt as an Aviations Director on the flight deck. For his service, Sparaco earned various commendations and medals including: the National Defense Service Medal, the Southwest Asia Service Medal, the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon w/Bronze Star, NATO Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.

Sparaco is on the board of Big Brothers/Big Sisters and is a member of the Valley Cottage Civic Association, Clarkstown Traffic Advisory Board, and Clarkstown Fire Safety Board. He won the New York State GOP voter registration drive in 2007.

Sparaco attended Nyack High School, Arizona State University, College of Staten Island, and Rockland Community College.
